‘Frozen 2’ Director To Give Elsa A Girlfriend?

In an interview with The Huffington Post Jennifer Lee the co-director of the upcoming sequel ‘Frozen 2’ says Disney is having talks about Elsa having a female love interest. The whole movement started when fans and LGBTQ activists adopted the song “Let It Go” as their coming out song. Petitions were even sent out to give Elsa a girlfriend.

Lee was asked if the speculation would become official and stated the film’s team has been discussing the possibility.

Lee stated “I love everything people are saying and people are thinking about with our film,” she told the Post. “That it’s creating dialogue, that Elsa is this wonderful character that speaks to so many people.” She added “Where we’re going with it, we have tons of conversations about it, and we’re really conscientious about these things.”

The Huffington Post also stated that Idina Menzel, who voices Queen Elsa, said she’s “excited people are talking about the possibility.”

Social media has exploded with the hashtag “GiveElsaAGirlfriend.”
